Student Organizations
CDI provides advisory support to multicultural student groups on campus to support their success and sense of belonging.
- Asian Student Union (ASU)Ìý
-
ASU’s mission is to help establish a community for Asian, Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community members to be empowered and united on Hope’s campus. ASU events are intended to promote awareness and provide support for the history, culture, experiences, and perspectives of AANHPI individuals as well as acknowledging the issues faced by the community. ASU is responsible for providing a safe place for AANHPI students to come together and celebrate each other's differences. - Black Student Union (BSU)
-
BSU facilitates interaction and heightens awareness of African American history and culture within the Hope College and Holland communities. It works to unite the community by providing educational experiences through speakers, dialogues and social functions.Motto: Building Strength through Unity
- Hope Advocates for Invisible Conditions (HAIC)
-
Hope Advocates for Invisible Conditions raises awareness and advocates for invisible conditions and disabilities across the Hope College community. Club meetings and events address current issues in the disability and invisible condition community. HAIC provides a supportive community for students with invisible conditions and/or disabilities. HAIC events are open to all students, regardless of whether or not they have an invisible condition/disability.
- Latino Student Organization (LSO)
-
LSO promotes an understanding of the Latino culture in the Hope College and Holland communities by introducing others to the richness of various Latino cultures through activities and programs.
- Men’s Enrichment Network (MEN)
-
“Building leaders through communityâ€
The Center for Diversity and Inclusion sponsors the Men’s Enrichment Network. This is a leadership and mentoring program for male-identifying students of color. Because male students tend to be less engaged than female students at Hope College; this program aims to increase the sense of belonging and provide community among these emerging male leaders of color.
- Pan-African Student Association (PASA)
-
The mission of Pan-African Student Association is to promote the academic, social and cultural welfare of African students in the Hope College community as they navigate integration into a new culture. We aim to celebrate and share the richness of our African heritage with those who find interest in learning about realities beyond their own. We welcome everyone — read that again: everyone — to join us as we collectively find, acknowledge and celebrate the beauty of diversity.
- Prism
-
The mission of Prism is to provide an open space for any LGBTQIA+ persons and allies to develop community and promote inclusion at Hope College. This organization strives to give the Hope community a place to learn, support and advocate for the rights of LGBTQIA+ students. Prism does not require LGBTQIA+ people to out themselves to the group or to their peers.
- Women of Color United (WOCU)
-
WOCU serves to foster community among female-identifying students of color. Through hosting weekly social or professional development events, we encourage and celebrate the achievements of women of color at Hope and the Holland community. This includes hosting the annual Women’s History Month showcase, coming together to celebrate and share the work of womanhood. Empowerment, sisterhood and intersectional engagement are just some of the core values we represent and promote.
