Rebecca Kiser
Assistant Professor of Accounting InstructionProfessor Becky Kiser’s more than two decades of international business-related experience with a major accounting firm and Amway Corporation informs her 鶹Ƶվ teaching. A certified public accountant licensed in Michigan and Indiana, she teaches Managerial Accounting, Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Individual Income Tax and Accounting Information Systems.
She worked from 1990 to 2017 for the “Big Four” accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where she started as an auditor and then became a tax consultant preparing corporate and individual income tax returns. For her final 20 years with the firm, she was a manager reviewing and signing individual returns for many executives of Fortune 500 companies. In her work for PwC in Germany, Connecticut and four midwestern states, her favorite assignment was to teach interns and newer employees about individual income taxes. That led to her passion for teaching.
After leaving PwC in 2017, she worked for Amway Corporation as a senior financial analyst, leading the firm’s implementation of changes in federal withholding regulations for employees who aren’t US taxpayers. Starting in 2018, Professor Kiser taught full-time for three years at Grand Valley State University. She joined the Hope College faculty in 2021.
